Dr Jan Sheldon is the CEO of St Martins, a charity founded in 1972 to support and care for people sleeping rough and homeless people in Norwich. St Martins delivers a wide range of both prevention and crisis management services. At any one-time St Martins is supporting 300 people with 200 dedicated and committed team members. St Martins has been recognised by Best Companies as a top 10 Charity to work for (2023).

Prior to joining St Martins Jan held roles which required her to work closely with the Department of Health and Social Care and the Cabinet Office on social care workforce development strategies.

Jan also holds a Doctorate in Education awarded by Sheffield University in 2004; she qualified as a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors in 2015.

Jan is passionate about ensuring that people who need care and support get the help that they need. She also enjoys ‘tinkering’ with the organisation to make sure it is working in the best possible way, delivering the services needed and supporting every team member to give of their best.
