Keeping the doors open: Impactful day centre provision (Fleet)
A Talk by Tasmin Maitland , Melissa Blewitt and Tim Renshaw
About this Talk
Day centres have long played a key role in homelessness service provision, with offers ranging from a place to meet basic needs, to a safespace for fostering relationships or embarking on training, to a point of access to other important services. But with increasing demand, competition for funding, and a focus on the need for bed spaces, it is a challenging landscape.
In this session we will hear from three day centre providers and discuss:
- the challenges facing day centres (including high demand, funding challenges, workforce wellbeing);
- different models of service delivery and funding
- The importance, impact and outcomes of day centre provision - and how we can demonstrate this value
We welcome delegates to bring questions for the panel, but also share their own experiences.
